Public Hearing Notice: Annexation & Rezoning Moratorium
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION & CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DALLAS
Public hearings will be conducted by the City Council on May 6th, 2024 at 5PM (initial read); and June 3rd, 2024 at 5PM (final read), in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 129 East Memorial Drive, Dallas, Georgia.
Annexation and Rezoning Moratorium:
The City of Dallas is proposing to place a moratorium on all rezoning and annexation requests within the city limits. This moratorium is being implemented to allow for a comprehensive review of current zoning ordinances and their alignment with the city's long-term development goals.
Effective Period:
The moratorium will be in effect starting May 6th, 2024 and will remain in place until September 9th, 2024.
Purpose:
During this moratorium, the City will conduct a thorough assessment of existing zoning regulations, land use patterns, and community feedback to ensure that future development aligns with the vision and objectives outlined in the city's comprehensive plan.
Public Input:
The City encourages residents, property owners, developers, and stakeholders to participate in the review process. The public is invited to attend the hearings for oral comments, or submit written comments on the subject to the City of Dallas, Attention: Dallas City Council, 129 East Memorial Drive, Dallas, Georgia 30132, prior to the public hearings.
