NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT CODE AND CODE OF ORDINANCES

ORDINANCE AMENDMENT OA-2026-06 – BOND SECURITY

Notice is given that the Mayor and Council of the City of Dallas, Georgia will hold a public hearing on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 5:15 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at Dallas City Hall, Council Chambers, 129 East Memorial Drive, Dallas, Georgia 30132, to receive public comment on proposed Ordinance Amendment OA-2026-06 – Bond Security.

The amendment would revise the Unified Development Code of the City of Dallas, Georgia and the Code of Ordinances of the City of Dallas, Georgia to permit surety bonds and other legally acceptable non-cash financial guarantees for performance and maintenance warranties in development agreements, establish related standards and procedures, amend conflicting provisions, and serve other lawful purposes.

The Dallas Planning Commission is scheduled to consider the amendment and make a recommendation at its public meeting on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at Dallas City Hall, Council Chambers, 129 East Memorial Drive, Dallas, Georgia 30132.

After the July 6, 2026 public hearing, the Mayor and Council may consider the proposed amendment on second read and final passage at the same meeting.

A copy of the proposed amendment is available for public inspection at the City Clerk’s office, City of Dallas, 129 East Memorial Drive, Dallas, Georgia 30132, during regular business hours. Written comments may be submitted to the City Clerk before the public hearing.

All interested persons are invited to attend and be heard. Anyone needing disability access or foreign language interpretation should contact the City Clerk before the hearing so reasonable accommodations can be made.
